Bio
Sarah Jumonville has been welding and working with metal for roughly 9 years. Jumonville began working when her artist uncle enlisted her as shop help in his own studio space. Her works include garden sculptures, interior and exterior wall sculptures, beer tap handles, and furniture items such as tables and chairs. The works incorporate many salvaged pieces and scrap metal, which makes each piece one-of-a-kind.
Born and raised on the Mississippi River in La Crosse, WI, Jumonville attended Goucher College in Baltimore, MD from 2004-2008. While there, she studied art history, as well as anthropology, Italian, two dimensional and three dimensional art forms. After graduating she moved to Burlington, VT in the summer of 2008. Since then, she has worked as a tree planter/landscaper, welding instructor for Rosie's Girls (a Vermont Works for Women camp), apprentice to a tile installer and mentor for Burlington City Arts group mentoring program for middle schoolers.
